I often have women who are prenant or nursing asking me what they can take for weight loss or even what supplements they can even just take period.
I have an 8 month old at home and I know how you feel. With regards to the products discussed in my weight loss posts, it is not advised for pregnant women to take many of those.
You can take a good quality Whey Protein Isolate for example from the brand Progressive.
Fish Oil from Ascenta for example
Calcium Magnesium such as Coral Calcium from Alive
Really the main thing during pregnancy is to just eat the most healthy as possible. One of my favourites that always made me feel full was Kale salad. Just oil and balsamic vinegar, cracked black pepper, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, feta cheese, pine nuts or whatever nuts you like. you can modify the salad of course if you like red peppers that is nice too. The key with Kale is it is really crunchy so you can actually put the dressing on the night before and it will be a nice texture the next day. Veges that are super dark are very rich in nutrients and it makes you full because they are so dense with lots of fibre.
Keep in mind that now is not the time to lose weight. So just make sure you have lots of hearty healthy calories. You will feel fantastic. Also I ate more in the morning and less and less throughout the day and I slept excellent. Now I am still nursing so I have to be careful still with supplements, but I continue with my Platinum Prenatel, lots of Ascenta fish oil, cal/mag, probiotic (helps with digestion and totally safe throughout pregnancy/nursing).
A tip for breakfast is NutraCleanse!! This is amazing. Really helps regularity great for the breast milk its a fabulous product and is extremely safe, natural and healthy. You just sprinkle it on cereal or what ever you want. http://www.alivehealthblog.com/2011/05/26/nutracleanse-high-fibre-food-source/ there is the link.
Above is a just an example of a response that I often have to make. Just wanted to share.

So can I take nutracleanse while Breastfeeding? Kina
Hi Kina, Yes you can take NutraCleanse while breast feeding, just one tablespoon a day is all. NutraCleanse is actually good for the production of breast milk because of the Fenugreek. Have a great rest of your weekend!
